

The duties of a Manatee County Democratic Executive Committee member are:
1. Attend monthly DEC meetings, participate in subcommittee meetings as appropriate and perform all statutory and by-laws duties.
2. Be a registered Democrat who will serve as either a precinct committeeman or woman in your residential precinct or an at-large appointed member of a DEC committee.
3. Advise the chairman of potential projects and concerns of voters in the precinct.
4. Inform precinct members and registered voters of the Democratic platform to encourage Democratic voter registration and membership development of the Democratic Party.
5. Assist and support DEC fundraising activities. DEC members’ assistance and support is desired in attending the annual Lawton Chiles fundraising dinner and other fundraising efforts.
6. Encourage Democratic voter participation and turnout in all levels of government and elections.
7. Volunteer to help Manatee County achieve assigned election year goals by participating in activities such as: volunteer recruitment, phone banking, door-to-door walking, voter registration, and absentee and early vote turnout.
8. Encourage registered Democrats in the precinct to participate in Democratic activities, Manatee County DEC meetings, DEC membership development and other activities such as:
• Voter registration events
• Phone banks
• Volunteer recruitment efforts
• Door-to-door candidate pitches
• Manatee County Fair Booth Committee
• Parade committees
• Minority outreach committees
• Lawton Chiles Awards Dinner Committee
• Support local Democratic clubs
• Fundraising
